How to Buy ChatGPT Plus in Ethiopia with Telebirr
To pay for ChatGPT Plus in Ethiopia without a foreign card, order it on our Buy ChatGPT Plus in Ethiopia page, pay in Ethiopian Birr by Telebirr, CBE Birr, Awash Bank or Dashen Bank using the details shown at checkout, and upload your payment screenshot and transaction number. Plus goes on your own ChatGPT account and email, not a shared login. We confirm the payment before setting it up and tell you on Telegram or WhatsApp when it is done. Questions before you pay go to @itsabelb on Telegram.
Is ChatGPT available in Ethiopia?
Yes. Ethiopia is on OpenAI's list of supported countries, so the free version and Plus both work here without a VPN. OpenAI: supported countries. What stops most people is the payment step, not access.
Why an Ethiopian card is declined
OpenAI bills Plus as a recurring charge in foreign currency. Whether a birr card can pay that is decided by the bank that issued it, and most everyday debit cards here are not enabled for international online payments. Retrying the same card does not change the answer, and neither does a VPN: it changes where your connection appears to be, not where your card was issued. Why Ethiopian cards are declined covers what to ask your bank.
The other routes people use, such as a relative abroad paying with their card or billing through a phone's app store, still need a payment method the store accepts and someone to keep it funded every month. They are worth considering if one is already open to you.
What ChatGPT Plus costs in birr
| Plan | 1 month |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT Plus on your own account | 4,699 Br |
That is the whole price, with nothing added at checkout. Plus is sold one month at a time, and we message you before the month ends so you can decide whether to renew.
Paying in birr, step by step
- Open the order. On the ChatGPT Plus page, choose the month and enter the email address of your ChatGPT account. If you do not have one yet, create a free account first.
- Pay from your phone. Telebirr or CBE Birr, Awash or Dashen, whichever you already use. Send the exact amount to the account shown at checkout.
- Upload the confirmation screenshot. Add the transaction number from your SMS. That is how the payment is matched to your order.
- Get upgraded. We confirm the payment, upgrade your account and tell you on Telegram or WhatsApp. Then change your password.
What about your password
The upgrade needs one sign-in to your account. Your password goes only to the person doing it, it is not stored with your order, and you change it once we confirm delivery. Your chats, projects and settings stay exactly where they are, because it is the same account.
If something goes wrong
- You paid but have not heard back. Send your order reference and transaction number to @itsabelb on Telegram. A payment for a different amount may need checking by hand.
- Plus stops working during the month. Our rule is on the replacement and refunds page: a fix or replacement within 24 hours for the whole period you paid for, or a refund for the part you did not receive.
- Your account is placed on hold or suspended by OpenAI. Account suspensions or permanent closures for "unusual activity" or violating OpenAI’s Terms of Service or Usage Policies are caused by user activity and are strictly not covered by warranty or eligible for a refund or replacement. Contact Bezuale support first and wait for our investigation and billing details before submitting any platform appeal; appealing independently without waiting for our support voids any assistance.
Questions people ask
Can I pay for ChatGPT Plus with Telebirr directly?
Not at OpenAI's own checkout, which takes cards. The Telebirr and bank details on our checkout are for paying Bezuale Solutions in birr; we then upgrade your account.
Do I need a VPN to use ChatGPT in Ethiopia?
No. Ethiopia is a supported country. A VPN does not help with a declined card either.
Is it my own account?
Yes. Plus is added to the ChatGPT account on your email, so nobody else uses it and your history stays yours.
Does ChatGPT Plus work on my phone and computer, and what models are included?
Yes. Plus is tied to your OpenAI account and works across chatgpt.com on the web, the desktop app, and the official iOS and Android apps with the same login. It includes GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol in Work and Codex, image and video generation, Advanced Voice, Deep Research, and higher message and file-upload limits than the free tier. If you need higher-limit ChatGPT Pro or Team seats, message @itsabelb on Telegram for a birr quote.
How is my ChatGPT account kept safe compared to virtual dollar cards or Jiji sellers?
We sign in once only to complete the billing upgrade on your own OpenAI account, never store your password with your order, and message you as soon as Plus is active so you can change your password immediately. Unlike virtual dollar cards that charge KYC and top-up fees or unverified classified sellers with no warranty, Bezuale Solutions covers the full paid month with a written 24-hour replacement guarantee.
The short version
ChatGPT works in Ethiopia; paying for Plus with a local card usually does not. If you want to pay in birr from the bank app you already use, order on the ChatGPT Plus page and ask @itsabelb anything first.
