GTA 6 lands on 19 November — how to actually buy it from Ethiopia

Grand Theft Auto VI releases on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026. If you have tried to place one from Addis and been bounced, nothing is wrong with your console or your account.

The wall is the same one Netflix puts up

The PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store bill in dollars through international card networks. A birr card issued domestically cannot settle that charge, for the same foreign-exchange reason your card gets declined on Netflix and ChatGPT. What a pre-order actually gets you

Two things, and it is worth being clear that neither is the game arriving early:

• Pre-load. Digital pre-load starts on 12 November, a week before release. On an Ethiopian connection that week is the whole point — see the console prep guide.
• Price certainty. You lock the edition and the price now rather than at launch, when demand is at its highest.

Rockstar is selling a Standard edition and a more expensive Ultimate edition. There is no advantage to Ultimate unless you specifically want its extras — the game is the same game.

What we do

The same thing we do for a Netflix top-up. You tell us the console, the edition and the store account you play on, we settle the dollar charge, and the pre-order sits on your own account — not a shared one, not a key from somewhere unclear. On release day it downloads to your console like any other purchase you made yourself.

We are not quoting a birr figure on this page. The game is priced in dollars and the rate moves, so a number written here in August would be wrong by November and you would find that out at the worst moment. Message us for today's figure and it holds for the order you place.

What we will not do

We will not sell you a cheap regional key of unclear origin, a shared account with the game on it, or a "pre-order slot". Those all end the same way: the purchase gets reversed, the account gets locked, and there is nobody to complain to. This is a real pre-order on your account or it is nothing.

If you are on PC

There is no PC version at launch and Rockstar has not announced one. Historically the PC release has followed the consoles by well over a year. We would rather tell you to wait than take your money for a date nobody has given.

Ordering early matters more here than it does for a subscription. Launch week is when everyone tries at once, and we settle these one at a time.
